LIVING YOUR FAITH THROUGH MISSION

An open Bible with a wooden crucifix and a brown prayer rosary on its pages.

Faith isn’t just something we believe—it’s something we live.

Pope Francis tells us that the parish should be, “a community of communities, a sanctuary where the thirsty come to drink in the midst of their journey, and a centre of constant missionary outreach” (Evangelii Gaudium, par. 28). God has given every person unique gifts and talents to share. Whether it’s supporting those in need, teaching, assisting in worship, sharing a welcoming smile, or offering practical skills, there are countless ways to serve at the Cathedral by being good stewards of our time, talent and treasure. When we share our gifts, we deepen our connection to God, strengthen bonds with one another, and create a community that reflects God’s love. Using our gifts fills us with joy and energy – they are God’s gift to us more than our gift to Him! By living our faith through mission, we embody Jesus’ words: “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34-35).
